All new employees begin work on a 3 month probation period.  The aim of this policy is to ensure the worker fits into the work team and is able to perform the requirements of their job specification.  The company reserves the right to extend this probationary period to a period of 6 months at any stage during the first 3 months.

This policy is achieved via:

  • The provision of training and mentoring by experienced operators to assist the worker to fit into the work team and to up-skill them against job requirements.
  • Regular feedback on how they are performing and requirements to ensure suitability.

Just prior to the expiry of this qualifying period, a decision as to the suitability of the employee to the position available will be made by senior management on recommendations from the employee’s direct supervisor.
